"My girlfriend’s[20F] ex-boyfriend[21M] is blackmailing me[22M]?

So I’m attracted to men, but I’ve decided to stay in the closet for family reasons. Last semester I started dating a girl and it was going okay until her ex got involved. He picked a fight with me, I got drunk, and we hooked up. (I don’t understand why either. You don’t have to tell me I’m an idiot.)
 
Now he’s demanding money in exchange for his silence. He’s not asking for much, but I’m concerned this will escalate. I don’t want to out myself by reporting him, but I feel like I’m losing my mind. Things can’t go on like this.
